«My nose is too long»
«I do not like my profile»
«I would like to reduce the hump of my nose»
«My nostrils are too large and the tip is too bulbous»
Nose surgery is a very common procedure that can improve the appearance of women and men and contribute to developing their self-esteem. Most patients say that the intervention had a positive effect on their life.
Rhinoplasty allows remodelling the nose to give it a more harmonious shape. In most cases, the nose size is reduced by thinning its tip and by eliminating visible humps on the bridge. Sometimes, it is necessary to reduce the nostril size.
Several techniques – sometimes associated – can be proposed in function of the identified problem and the patient’s aspirations. Your plastic surgeon will carry out a detailed assessment of your nose and your face to determine the better option for you. Practically, a good result must be natural, without obvious signs of surgery and in harmony with the rest of the face.
Rhinoplasty complications are rare, but in about 5% of patients, a new touch-up intervention is required to correct minor irregularities or an asymmetry.
If you are thinking about undergoing surgery on your nose, please read Dr Franchi’s information on cosmetic surgery for the nose (rhinoplasty).
